Eiffel 101: How to Sell Your Trench Boxes
When listing your trench boxes for sale, there are five basic steps you should take to attract the attention of potential buyers: clean the trench boxes before listing, take good quality photos, include detailed information about the boxes, set a fair market price, and be upfront about wear and tear.
1. Clean the Trench Boxes Before Listing
Before listing your trench boxes for sale, it's important to make them as appealing to a buyer as possible. Take the time to remove all dirt and debris from the trench boxes, so that when you take photos to post in the listing, the trench boxes look well cared for and ready for use. This also allows potential buyers to better see the true condition of the trench boxes.
2. Take Quality Photos in Good Light
High quality photos give potential buyers a better sense of what you’re offering, which can make them more likely to act. You don’t need expensive camera equipment to get the best shot; good-quality daylight and a clean phone lens is sufficient. Aim to take multiple photos of your trench boxes from different angles to showcase the boxes in their entirety. Furthermore, because buyers want to know what they’re purchasing and might hesitate to complete a sale if they can’t view the entire trench box, take photos of the boxes after uninstalling.
3. Include Detailed Information
If your listing is incomplete, a potential buyer will likely not contact you to ask for your trench box’s details; make it easy for them by including all relevant information in the listing, including dimensions, the manufacturer, and how long the trench box has been in use. Sometimes, listing the former applications of the trench boxes can be useful to a potential buyer! Typically, the rule of thumb is “the more information, the better!”. Since our marketplace is online, buyers feel more secure in their purchases with an abundance of information.
4. Set Trench Boxes at a Fair Market Price
If your trench boxes aren’t selling, it might be because you’re failing to match the used market’s going rate. Do some research on the price of similar trench boxes to ensure your prices are competitive. A fair price will also reflect the condition of the trench boxes, the location of the trench boxes (for example, if they are located in a remote area, it is often advantageous to price them lower to offset the higher cost of freight), and other relative factors.
5. Be Upfront About Wear and Tear
Never attempt to trick buyers into overlooking a trench box’s wear and tear. Instead, be upfront about rust or abnormalities in your trench boxes and price them accordingly. As mentioned earlier, the more information presented to buyers… the better!
